Our commitment to sustainability –
Across every stage of the product life cycle

Sustainability

Sustainability across all stages of the product life cycle: from procurement and production to processing and recycling - that's what defines us.

Sustainable high performance

Environmentally friendly products have a long tradition with us. We have been developing adhesives and sealants without hazard pictograms for decades. Today, with our extensive portfolio, we are one of the leading manufacturers of products with a "white" safety data sheet. This means true sustainability across all stages of the product life cycle. From procurement and production to processing and disposal.

Sustainable development

In the context of the Paris Climate Agreement in December 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda, which aims to bring global economic development in line with social justice and the Earth's ecological limits.

The 2030 Agenda is concretised by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 main goals are subdivided into 169 sub-goals and are designed as guidelines for all countries and organisations.

We also see these values as the cornerstone of our corporate development - for people, the environment and business relationships.

Measures

EcoVadis

As part of our commitment to our society, our people and the environment, Kisling completes a thorough assessment of its sustainability practices each year by EcoVadis, the global standard for sustainability ratings.

The EcoVadis assessment covers 21 sustainability categories on four core topics: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

In our latest rating on 30 May 2024, we received a gold medal and achieved a score of 73, which puts Kisling in the top 5% of companies worldwide.

Certificate of the Swiss Private Sector Energy Agency

The EnAW (Energy Agency for Industry) efficiency label recognises companies that reduce their CO2 emissions and energy consumption through individual measures and projects. The label is awarded when companies have achieved their annual energy efficiency targets. These targets are monitored and decreed by the Swiss Confederation.

By implementing the following measures, Kisling saved more than 75,000 kWh and over 8 tonnes of CO2 in 2021:

  • The parking garage lighting at the headquarter in Wetzikon was replaced by light support with motion detectors
  • Installation of a timer for trace heating
  • Automated blinds
  • Disposable cardboard cups replaced by ceramic cups, we now only use drinking glasses instead of plastic cups and the plastic stirrers have also been permanently removed
